Peru has become the most
Food-Insecure country in South America.

Almost one quarter of the population (22 percent) still lives below the poverty line and those who live in rural areas face the greatest poverty

Peru has become the most food-insecure country in South America, according to the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization, FAO. Some 16.6 million people – more than half the population — now find themselves without regular access to enough safe and nutritious food.
